Chicken of the Sea Georgia recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of its first domestic cannery operation in Toombs County.  The plant opened in 2009 after the American Samoa plant was closed to make the move to Toombs Corporate Center, Lyons, Georgia.

The Southeast Early College and Career Academy (SECCA) in Vidalia partnered with Southern Nuclear to host a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Camp for 20 area middle school and high school students.

ATLANTA – A new partnership between Governor Brian Kemp and state Labor Commissioner Mark Butler will be highlighted on June 19 when the commissioner hosts an employer summit in Vidalia.

The meeting is one in a series of 12 being held throughout the state called Employers in the Know. The meetings offer the commissioner a chance to meet with employers around the state to share the department’s work and hear back from employers on how they can better be served.

June 11--  Beginning Fall semester, James Earl Yearty will lead Southeastern Technical College’s (STC) new Computer Numeric Control (CNC) program.

The Toombs County Development Authority was pleased to participate in conversations regarding the Toombs County Long Range Transportation Plan at a Stakeholder Advisory Group Meeting on May 30, 2019.

Our community’s transportation infrastructure is a huge factor in our current and long-term economic development efforts.
