September 14, 2016 - For the second time in less than a year, an organization has named Southeastern Technical College (STC) the top technical college in the state of Georgia. James magazine bestowed this honor in its Summer education issue.
James is a magazine dedicated to the news, politics, and culture of the state of Georgia. The July/August 2016 edition was the annual education issue. The purpose of the education issue is to illuminate current events across the state of Georgia within the post-secondary education sector, as well as to name the top universities and colleges throughout the state.
This year's Education issue is also the first edition to include a Top 10 rankings list for technical colleges in Georgia. In addition to the honor of being alongside other distinguished universities and colleges, Southeastern Technical College ranked at the very top of this list, coming in at the #1 overall spot for all of Georgia's Technical Colleges.
According to the magazine, these rankings are determined by a "review of national and regional rankings," as well as the "James research staff in consultation with education and business leaders." The criteria that was followed in order to assess and rank the various universities and colleges included "admissions standards, career-placement after graduation, and more."
This achievement for Southeastern Technical College is the second to ranking of the year, having been awarded the #1 spot for a two-year colleges in the state of Geogia by BestColleges.com (August 2016).
