Parker’s founder and CEO Greg Parker recently presented a Fueling the Community check for $3,600 to Toombs County Schools. Students joined Toombs County Middle School Principal Dr. Renee Garbutt to accept the donation on behalf of the school system.
LYONS, Ga. (May 23, 2019) – Parker’s recently donated $3,600 to Toombs County Schools as part of the company’s Fueling the Community charitable initiative, which donates a portion of gas sold on the first Wednesday of each month to area schools. The check presentation took place at Toombs County Middle School in Lyons, Ga. on May 16.
“As a former Toombs County student, I know there are passionate and dedicated teachers who are looking to provide their students with every opportunity to succeed,” said Parker’s founder and CEO Greg Parker. “At Parker’s, we believe education is a conduit of opportunity, so we consider it a true honor to invest in the teachers, students and future leaders of Toombs County.”
Parker’s launched the Fueling the Community charitable initiative in 2011 and donates money to schools in every community where the company operates stores. Parker’s has donated nearly $1 million to area schools since the inception of the Fueling the Community program and has donated more than $100,000 during the current school year.
