The second annual This Girl Can program kicked off Monday, November 7th, in Southeastern Technical College’s Automotive Department! Automotive Teacher Will Fountain and six of his current students taught our 7th and 8th grade after school students how to check their oil and transmission fluid, how to change a tire, and how to properly use jumper cables.
Toombs County Family Connection is thrilled to partner with Southeastern Technical College for the second consecutive year to offer this workforce development program to female students. It’s aim is simple: to increase awareness of and interest in male-dominated career pathways.
This year’s This Girl Can sponsors include Trane, Georgia Power, and AGC’s Young Leadership Program. Other partners include the Greater Vidalia Chamber, Toombs County Development Authority, Southeastern Early College and Career Academy, Toombs County Schools, and Vidalia City Schools.
