Community Earns State Recognition

Community leaders joined Vidalia Mayor Ronnie Dixon, Southeastern Early College and Career Academy (SECCA) Executive Director Shelly Smith and Lyons Mayor Willis NeSmith for the award presentation.

Vidalia and Lyons were recognized by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) at its annual conference in Savannah.

The GMA presented its "Great Promise Partnership Cornerstone Community - Bronze Level" award for "outstanding efforts adddressing high school graduation and workforce development" in support of Southeastern Early College and Career Academy (SECCA) in Toombs County.  The Great Promise Partnership program pairs high school students with local business and industry for work experience and insights on potential careers.
