April's Logistics Market Snapshot is Here!

A message from the Georgia Center of Innovation - Logistics...

The United States has declared and celebrates almost 2,000 national days and holidays. Celebrating national days strengthens unity within communities – plus they can be fun, poignant, or a good reminder of the reasons behind a cause.

National Supply Chain Day, established in 2020, is celebrated annually on April 29. According to the National Day Archives website: “National Supply Chain Day is a day where all companies leading in supply chain can come together to spread knowledge, share recent upgrades and new tech in their supply chain, and connect.”

We’ve heard more about supply chains than ever during COVID-19, thanks to shortages associated with the pandemic. So it’s no surprise that this “national day” was established during that time. Supply chains are ever-evolving. They are innovation finding solutions in response to demand. Some of the emerging tech trends and innovations are big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning, internet of things (IoT), 5G, and advanced supply chain management software, just to name a few.

At our Georgia Logistics Summit this spring, we highlighted the complex world of supply chains, including new best practices, as well as education opportunities across the State of Georgia. It’s our hope that you keep growing, so that together, we can continue to expand our capabilities and push boundaries. A lot of people behind-the-scenes work daily to keep our great nation going. After all, if you’re shipping anything to Mom for Mother’s Day (May 8), or ordering any special supplies for your Memorial Day (May 30) celebration, you’ll be relying on that supply chain and the people behind it. Let’s celebrate them, too!
