Toombs County Fire Protection Service Area (FPSA), Toombs County, Georgia
Public Protection Classification: 05/10
Effective Date: July 1, 2024
ISO recently completed a Public Protection Classification (PPC) survey in Toombs County, performing an analysis of the structural fire suppression delivery system provided in the community and awarding a classification of 05/10 that will become effective on July 1, 2024.
ISO is the leading supplier of data and analytics for the property/casualty insurance industry. Most insurers use PPC classifications for underwriting and calculating premiums for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
“We are very happy with the revised rating,” said Chief Johnny Moser of the Toombs County Fire Department. “The PPC rating of two (2) large areas of the County went from a 10/10 to a 05/10. Homes directly affected by the new rating include structures within five (5) miles of 396 Cedar Crossing-Vidalia Road and structures within five (5) miles of 427 Laura Dixon Road (Marvin Yancey Community), specifically, all of which were previously rated as a PPC 10. The new classifications will improve the predictive value for insurers and will result in lower insurance prices which will benefit property owners. Property owners should, therefore, be sure to communicate revised classifications to their insurance providers when renewing and/or shopping coverage, beginning immediately. Property owners with questions about the rating process or those areas, specifically, should feel free to contact me at 912.293.9362 or moser8811@gmail.com for more information.”
